Over 400 years ago, the Pilgrims fled the Church of England to escape religious persecution. And, since the arrival of the Pilgrims on our shores, America has historically served as the beacon for political and religious liberty, where people can worship God freely without government restrictions or persecution. In an era where freedom should be our guiding light, it's a stark reality that the very flame of liberty, kindled by the Pilgrims, is at risk of being extinguished in our great nation.

Friends, we at Pacific Justice Institute are here to ensure that the monumental efforts of the Pilgrims are not trampled upon but, instead, strengthened. For over two decades, we have stood on the foundation of faith and freedom. Just as a seawall stands against the continual onslaught of the powerful ocean waves, PJI's legal team answers daily to the call to stand their ground and oppose both public and private attempts to inhibit the free exercise of faith.

Just last month, I was in Boston for a legal conference with PJI attorneys from around the nation, and I couldn't help but be astounded not only by the growth of our organization but also by the high caliber of our new team members and the work they are doing from Massachusetts to Hawaii, from Florida to Washington State, and at many points in between.

With 36 offices across 22 states, we are actively litigating over 220 cases! Many of these cases cannot be discussed due to confidentiality, as doing so could pose a risk of threats, especially to our brothers and sisters experiencing unfathomable degrees of religious persecution.

Despite the current challenges, America remains that “city on a hill” where the persecuted find hope. Together we are fighting right now on so many fronts to remain a beacon of freedom to our neighbors and to those around the world.
