Team — This week, voters across the country proved Americans believe in protecting reproductive rights.
You’ll remember that last year, all eyes were on Pat’s special election as the first test of abortion rights after the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. It was a special election in Upstate New York at the tail end of August. It was anything but typical, but that night, reproductive rights won. Our victory would later be seen as a bellwether, the race that set the stage for electoral victories on abortion access all across the country.
It was proof: When choice and freedom are on the ballot, choice and freedom win.
This week in Ohio, voters resoundingly approved an amendment to enshrine reproductive rights into the state’s Constitution.
In Kentucky, Democratic Governor Andy Beshear secured re-election by running a campaign that made reproductive freedoms a centerpiece. Beshear called out his opponent’s extreme record and minced no words when it came to the fight to protect freedom.
In Virginia, voters rejected the GOP Governor’s attempt to restrict abortion access by flipping control of the state legislature from red to blue.
And here in the Hudson Valley, Democrats flipped several key seats, including in the Dutchess County District Attorney’s race, a position held by Republicans for 40 years.
Voters across the country have issued a mandate every single time abortion access has been on the ballot: freedom includes a woman's right to choose.
But that fight continues next year:
Please, support Pat’s continued fight for reproductive rights by pitching in to his re-election campaign today. He’s championing protections for abortion access — because that’s what the American people support.
