✅ Virginia elected Rozia “J.R.” Henson to the House of Delegates. He makes history as the first openly gay Black man ever elected to the Virginia General Assembly.
✅ Gabe Amo won Rhode Island’s special election, becoming the state's first Black member of Congress.
✅ Ohio voters approved Issue 1, which enshrines the right to abortion in the state’s constitution, and Issue 2, which legalizes the possession, use, and sale of recreational marijuana for people 21 and older.
✅ Philadelphia elected Cherelle Parker as the city's 100th mayor, becoming the first woman to hold this office.
✅ Philadelphia elected Rue Landau, who became the city’s first out LGBTQIA+ city council member.
✅ Virginia elected Danica Roem to the State Senate, becoming the state’s first openly trans senator.
✅ Yusef Salaam, one of the exonerated Central Park Five members, won a seat on the New York City Council.
