Dear Friend,

Although most state legislatures are out of session, legislatures will be reconvening in the coming months and THC will on the docket.

If you are in a state with any form of legal THC, including medical marijuana, commercial marijuana, or hemp-derived THC sold in the form of Delta-8 THC or hemp-derived Delta-9 THC, we want to empower you to ask your state lawmakers to enact smart, health-first policies.

We've created a guide for states with legal THC that outlines what policies state legislators should prioritize in the next legislative session.

We’ve also created a simple way to deliver these recommendations to your state officials directly ([link removed]) with one click.

This guide was spurred from a recent list of policy recommendations the SAM team sent to Ohio legislators after the passage of Issue 2 this week, the complete list of recommendations can be found HERE ([link removed]) .

The normalization and proliferation of THC and marijuana is already having serious consequences in states across the country as more and more young people are lured by the industry’s misinformation. Too many people simply don’t understand the risks associated with THC and high-potency drug products. Addiction is having a devastating impact on the lives of millions of Americans, and leaders in Ohio should be prepared to proactively limit the damage that could be done by this week’s vote.

We can and will continue our efforts in Ohio, in DC, and in other states because of your support. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to create resources like these that help get the word out about the harms of marijuana to parents, kids, and lawmakers.

Please consider donating toward our mission today. ([link removed])

As always, thank you for all of your hard work and support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kevin Sabet
