Chaverot veChaverim:
I am delighted to see that many of you will be joining us in Washington on Tuesday, November 14th, on the National Mall to show your solidarity and support to the people of Israel and to stand with the American Jewish community against anti-antisemitism.
We know that many of you have questions about Tuesday’s event. This email should answer most of them, and we will continue to update you when we learn more information. I urge you to sign up at Ameinu to stay current, and please include your email and cell phone number. We will try and use these on the day of the event to keep in touch with you.
Before I get to the technical issues, I want you to know that we are working closely with our friends and partners to make this meaningful for all of us. That is why we will meet up and stand together as a progressive bloc alongside our friends and partners: Americans for Peace Now, Habonim Dror, J Street, the Jewish Democratic Council of America, National Council of Jewish Women, the New York Jewish Agenda and Partners for Progressive Israel.
This is an event of solidarity, but we know that unity is not uniformity. There may be sentiments expressed, or signs raised that we find uncomfortable. We will be empowered by our numbers and our strength in being together.
How Do I Get to Washington?
Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) are organizing buses and, in some cases, airplane tickets to get to the Nation’s Capital, and we suggest you contact them. Others are coming by train or driving. All the buses will park at RFK Stadium.
We urge you to take the metro to the Smithsonian stop from RFK, Union Station or wherever else you are coming from. For Further logistical information, click here.
How Do I Enter the Mall? How Do I Find You?
The rally will be held on the National Mall from 7th to 12th streets. The program will run from 1-3 pm, but the gates will open at 10 am on 12th Street. The best way to enter is with an entrance bracelet. Some of you may receive these bracelets on your bus, but for those that still need one, you can get it from us from 9:30-12 at our staging area on Madison Drive NW, directly across from the National Museum of American History (1300 Madison Drive NW) on the National Mall. We have included a map below to help guide you.
