While House Republicans have elected a new Speaker, the House of Representatives is still not functioning correctly, and our country is again headed for a government shutdown if Congress can’t find a way forward.
This has been a chaotic year in the U.S. House. We have seen multiple Speaker battles, had a brush with a fiscal cliff that resulted in a credit rating downgrade for the U.S. government, barely escaped one government shutdown, and are hurtling toward another one.
Here at Team Bishop, we’re focused on doing our part to re-elect Congressman Bishop and help take the Speaker’s gavel back.

This year has shown why it’s crucial that Democrats retake control of the U.S. House in 2024. When Democrats controlled both the House and Senate, it was one of the most productive Congresses in modern history. When extremists in the GOP took control, they couldn’t even keep the House functioning. We can’t afford another two years of dysfunction and chaos.
