Local election results are in, John, and before I get into it, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible volunteers, donors, supporters, and voters who showed up to create change here in the Lower Hudson Valley.
Tuesday’s results bode well for next year’s race against MAGA Mike Lawler. Throughout the 17th Congressional District, you helped me re-elect Democrats, flip key seats, and defeat Lawler-backed candidates in “purple” parts of the district like my hometown Rockland County. In Rockland, Democrats won a supermajority on the county legislature for the first time in its 30-year history.
Many congratulations to every Democratic candidate who ran; it is more important than ever that we keep up the fight for working families by participating in our democracy. I look forward to working alongside them to lower costs, keep our communities safe, protect women’s reproductive rights, and create a prosperous future for everyday people in the Lower Hudson Valley.
With the 2023 election on the books, the work to flip NY-17 starts right now. Chip in any amount as we ramp up into high gear to keep the momentum going strong.

While we’re celebrating today, the truth is we still have a long road ahead of us if we want to be celebrating next November as well. The 2024 campaign season has officially begun, which means we're doubling down on getting my message out across the district.
Flipping NY-17 won’t be easy or cheap. While Mike Lawler has been named the second-most vulnerable Republican in the House, he has the full force of the GOP machine behind him. We already know they'll spend whatever it takes to hold onto Lawler's reliable MAGA vote.
This is a critical moment in our movement to defeat MAGA extremism and defend our fundamental rights and freedoms. But I can’t do it alone. We have one year to take down Mike Lawler. Chip in whatever you can to help flip this seat and start the 2024 campaign strong.
