John, this week, as we mark one year to the 2024 election, I want to lay out my two biggest electoral priorities:

1. Twenty-three of the 33 Senate seats up for grabs in November are held by Democrats or Independents who caucus with us, which means we face a huge battle to keep the Senate blue and prevent Mitch McConnell from retaking the majority.

2. We have 14 Democratic House members to protect in Illinois, including four freshmen facing their first-ever re-election campaigns. Holding these seats is a must if we’re going to flip the House.

Over the years, this team has helped elect Democratic champions like Nikki Budzinski, Sean Casten, and Lauren Underwood in key districts throughout Illinois. Now, we need to continue the job and send every one of them back to Washington next fall.

And in the Senate… well, last time Mitch McConnell was Senate Majority Leader, he proclaimed himself the “Grim Reaper” of all Democratic legislative priorities and killed any attempt at progress. Please – I can’t live through those dark days in the Senate again.
