John, The past two weeks have been among the most difficult my hometown of Lewiston has ever faced, and I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received from across the country. To each and every person and organization who has stepped up in any way to help — thank you. I’d also like to thank our first responders and medical personnel in Lewiston and surrounding towns who worked tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of our community in the aftermath of the shooting. There’s no doubt that our community’s road to healing has only just begun and that it will extend long after Lewiston has faded from the national headlines. Above all else, we must continue to support the families of the victims as they grieve and honor the memories of their loved ones. This community is resilient — and just like the hard times we’ve faced before, neighbor will lean on neighbor, and we’ll work through the pain towards a new day together. This is a tough time for Lewiston, John, but I know between our community’s strong spirit and the support of folks like you, we will get through this. Thank you again and take care, Jared Golden
