This game-changing tool tells you exactly how at risk your area is to the
ills of climate change. Check the [ [link removed] ]Climate Vulnerability Index (CVI) to
find out where your neighborhood ranks and then share with us what you’ve
learned. For many of us, the news isn’t good, but we can't be discouraged,
this information should motivate us even more to fight to protect and
preserve climate funding from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for your
community.

What is the Climate Vulnerability Index? The [ [link removed] ]CVI measures and ranks
over 70,000 areas nationwide in terms of their risk to climate change.
Users can check the index to see how climate change is affecting, or is
likely to affect, their health, economy, property, and more.
Why is this important? Understanding the intertwined impacts of pollution
and poverty in different communities is crucial to achieving a sustainable
and equitable environment. This tool confirms, with solid data, what many
of us already believed to be obvious: that systemic inequities make Black,
Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities much more susceptible to the
effects of climate change — often because they live in areas more exposed
to hazardous waste and air pollution, heightening the risk of chronic
diseases. The CVI provides a clear, data-supported argument for our fight
to ensure that these communities receive a significant portion of IRA
funding and resources.
How can you take advantage of this tool? Currently, funding from the
Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for our most vulnerable populations is at
risk of being repealed by policymakers who are turning a blind eye to the
climate adversities of their constituents. We must use CVI as a tool to
ensure Congress prioritizes investments aimed at building healthier and
