Hi PPC Membership,

This week as I was preparing my taxes, I noticed on the form that our EDA
financial agent and I prepared through Elections Canada using their EFR
software that somehow the receipt from Elections Canada was not
eligible for ITA (Income Tax Act) refund. We must have made a mistake
somewhere and I apologize to all those who may have attempted to file their
taxes already and received no refund.

For those who donated, please hold off on filing your taxes till the second
or last week of April. You have till April 30 to submit for 2019. Or if
you have filed already and were unable to use the receipt that I had issued
you, please do not feel discouraged. You will be able to file an amendment
with your 2020 taxes and the new 2019 donation form that I will provide you
will still apply. I am trying to fix this problem and get proper receipts
to those who donated. It is quite a daunting task filling in the
appropriate forms especially since we lost our Financial Agent just prior
to the writ dropping. It made everything incredibly difficult.

I will be in touch with those who donated, and will hopefully get the new
forms out to all of you as soon as possible. This is all very new to both
myself and the financial agent.
