*DES starts solicitation to replace raised pavement markers contract*

DES is starting a solicitation for raised pavement markers to succeed statewide contract 06815 [ [link removed] ], which expires June 30.

Raised pavement markers are safety devices?used on?roads. They are usually made of plastic, ceramic, thermoplastic paint, glass or metal and come in a variety of shapes and colors that may include a lens or sheeting that enhances their visibility by?retroreflecting?automotive?headlights.

Other names for specific types of raised pavement markers include convex vibration lines,?Botts' dots, delineators,?cat's eyes, road studs or road turtles. Sometimes they are simply referred to as reflectors.

Contract changes

Expiring contract for commercial gases may lead to purchasing gap??

Contract 04015 [ [link removed] ] for medical, specialty and industrial gases is expiring Jan. 31, 2024. There will be a gap in contract coverage. Purchasers are encouraged to place orders before the expiration date.??

We are in the process of developing a new contract. Currently this process is in final review, and we expect to award the contract in March 2024.??

*CBA takes effect for language access providers?*

The new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for Language Access Providers (i.e., Interpreter Services, WFSE LAP) has gone into effective for this biennium, July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2025. Please be sure to update your files.

DES has a new Language Access Program Teams Channel to help purchasers to learn and share information.?We created three subchannels, each with different guidelines and resources.

The purpose of this channel is to share general information about DES' Language Access Program that doesn't fit into one of the other subchannels.

*2. Statewide Contract Purchasers*

The purpose of this channel is to share information among members of DES' Language Access Purchaser Meetings.

*3. Multiagency Language Access Community of Practice*

The purpose of this channel is to share workgroup information for members of our Multiagency Language Access Community of Practice. This channel is by invitation only, please join our general channel to request an invitation to this channel.
