Friend,
We are thrilled to share directly with you that our Wildlife Heritage Areas website is live! Wildlife Heritage Areas are some of the world’s leading locations that protect and respect wildlife, ensuring tourism that benefits the local community and safeguards animals. This revolutionary new program was developed by World Animal Protection and World Cetacean Alliance as a responsible alternative to the cruel and harmful practices suffered by wildlife in the tourism industry.
World Animal Protection has been campaigning against exploitative tourism experiences involving wildlife such as riding elephants, walking with lions, petting tigers, selfies and watching dolphin shows. We’ve been telling the tourism industry to stop offering these cruel experiences while telling tourists which venues and destinations to avoid.
Now, we have an incredible alternative solution — a visit to a Wildlife Heritage Area!
We’re excited about this new benchmark for responsible wildlife tourism. So, it poses a fun question — what animal are you excited to see at a Wildlife Heritage Area site? Vote now!
Friend, no matter which animal excites or inspires you, we are all united by sharing our belief that every animal deserves a wild life. Thank you for your support!
