To honor our incredible veterans on Veterans Day, we will not have a Hotline tomorrow. Thank you to all who have served.
1) Never, Never, Never Give Up
Yes, we're depressed about some of the election results from Tuesday. But this should only be an incentive to work harder and smarter and to be inspired by Honest Abe:
Abraham Lincoln’s Road To The White House
Lost his job as a store clerk in 1831
Defeated for state legislature in 1832
Opened his own store that went bust in 1833
Elected to state legislature in 1834
His fiancee died in 1835
Suffers nervous breakdown in 1836
Defeated for Speaker of the Illinois House in 1838
2) Now They Want to Abolish Gas Lawn Mowers, Snow Blowers, Leaf Blowers, and Weed Whackers – Seriously!
A group called Environment America Research & Policy Center put out this special report last week:
DROP IT, YOU ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMINAL!
Gas-powered yard equipment, they tell us, “emitted more than 30 million tons of carbon dioxide, the leading driver of climate change.” That’s more carbon than the entire city of Los Angeles emits.
The study concludes: “Why are we risking climate change catastrophe just for a tidier lawn?”
We wonder if these save-the-planet warriors ever tried to mow a two-acre yard with a push mower or hand shovel a long driveway covered with eight inches of snow?
This may seem laughable, but in Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County, Maryland, gas-powered leaf blowers have been banned. These folks are as serious as the heart attack you get from shoveling.
3) And Now for Some Good News: Voters Oust George Soros-Backed and Pro-Crime Prosecutors
There were a few happy results from Tuesday’s elections.
Last week, Elon Musk used Joe Rogan’s podcast to call out his fellow multi-billionaire George Soros for making crime so much worse in America.
"Getting district attorneys elected who refused to prosecute crime, that's part of the problem in San Francisco and LA and many other cities,” Musk added. “Soros realized that you don't actually need to change the laws. You just need to change how they're enforced."
He’s right and the good news is that an outraged public is fighting back.
In liberal Pittsburgh, Soros-backed public defender Matt Dugan won May's Democratic primary against District Attorney Stephen Zappala. But Zappala won the GOP nomination on a write-in and this week he won re-election by convincing 30 percent of Democrats to cross party lines and vote for him.
In the most stunning upset of the day on Tuesday, suburban Loudoun County, Virginia, liberal Buta Biberaj was ousted as the top prosecutor by Republican Bob Anderson. Biberaj was attacked for mishandling sexual assault cases in Loudoun County schools earning the ire of parents throughout the county.
Most amazingly, Johnson won despite being outspent 15-1!
4) California's Anti-Energy Policies Make California Dependent on OPEC
California used to be a top oil-producing state, but as Ronald Stein of the Heartland Institute notes, it is now "the only state in contiguous America that imports most of its crude oil feedstock to in-state refineries from foreign countries."
Imports have risen from just 5 percent of California's refinery feedstocks in 1992 to more than 75 percent today.
By the way, California is one of the most oil and gas-rich places in the world. How catastrophic would it be if Biden succeeded in taking California's policies national?
