Earlier this year, we launched the Wellstone Academy – a brand new program designed to train the next generation of organizers who will keep Minnesota blue in 2024 and beyond.

Our 30 Wellstone Academy fellows started their training learning core organizing skills, from recruiting volunteers to launching door knocks. They dove deep into our data and tech tools. And they spent weeks with top trainers from around the country to deepen their leadership and management skills.

Now, as they’re about to complete the program, Wellstone Fellows are hitting the ground running, using their knowledge and all they learned to help design next year’s field plan.

I couldn’t be more proud of our fellows for coming so far, and I know this first-of-its-kind program will make a big difference in next year’s elections. That’s why I’m reaching out this morning.

Our fundraising team just let me know that we came up significantly short of our one-year-out goal on Sunday. That means our entire DFL budget is in review, and I don’t want the Wellstone Academy to be impacted at this critical juncture.
