There was a Republican presidential debate last night, but it was up against the Country Music Awards, so I guess we know where most viewers were.

Years ago, I presented a CMA along with the late Naomi Judd, a nice woman who succeeded despite a chaotic upbringing. I always admire that.

Anyway, it's not the GOP contenders' fault that the campaign is pretty much over already. Donald Trump is a force of nature who appeals to conservative Republicans on a very emotional level.
