Building green infrastructure such as solar panels and offshore wind is necessary work to move us away from fossil fuels that pollute our planet. We are seeing workers enter the clean energy economy in unprecedented numbers.

At ALIGN, we are bringing labor unions into climate movements so that workers won’t get left behind in our transition to a green economy. We fought for and won gold star labor standards in major climate policies last year, including in the Build Public Renewables Act. 

Union jobs outperform non-union roles in pay, benefits, and workplace safety—earning 20% more than their non-union counterparts, on average. By organizing for higher compensation, job stability, and training, unions also narrow racial and gender wealth gaps.
