Team — One year ago, on a crisp November night, we won our election for New York’s 18th congressional district.
Our victory sent a resounding message: the people of the Hudson Valley believe in our fight to protect democracy and defend our rights.
It’s the honor of my lifetime to represent the great people of this district — including my neighbors, my friends, and the community I call home.
Since our country’s founding, the Hudson Valley has served as a xxxxxx in the fight for democracy. Once again, our democracy is being tested, and we need patriots to stand up and fight for it. And once again, I believe it is the people of the Hudson Valley who are up to the task.
We have a proud history of fighting for our communities here in the Hudson Valley, of standing up on behalf of those who often feel they do not have a voice. Over this past year, we have not backed down from tough fights.
We’ve taken on mega corporations polluting our waters and ripping off customers. We’ve fought for better benefits for veterans and their families. We’ve stood strong and resilient against the far-right extremism of the House GOP.
And team, I’ve got a lot of fight left in me.
I’m not backing down over this next year — no matter the challenges the NY GOP and their dark money donors throw our way as they try to defeat me at the ballot box.
Because this is what I know is true: With this team working alongside me, and with the drive to serve with duty, honor, and country just as I learned at West Point, I know that we can take on big fights — and win.
Yours in service,
Pat
