Our campaign made history one year ago today. I became the first woman elected to represent Illinois’ 13th District, and we flipped this seat from red to blue for the first time in nearly three decades.

None of this would’ve been possible without an incredible staff, an army of volunteers, and countless grassroots supporters like you, friend.

Together, we showed that we could run a winning campaign centered around the issues that matter most to the people of Central and Southern Illinois – like lowering costs, ensuring fair wages and safe places to work, and making sure working families have a chance to get ahead.

And since then, I’ve rolled up my sleeves to make real progress on these issues. I’ve introduced countless bipartisan bills to deliver critical funds and resources to support our rural communities and improve our district’s crumbling infrastructure, and right now, I’m working across the aisle every day to get the Farm Bill across the finish line.

But our work is far from over. I’m up for reelection next November, and two right-wing opponents have already entered the race. We can’t let them flip this seat and reverse all of our hard-won progress.

National Republicans are going to spend millions of dark money to boost these candidates as they look to hold onto their slim House majority, so we’re gearing up for another long fight ahead.

By continuing our work together, I know that we can overcome any challenge that comes our way. We can — and we will — remain laser-focused in our fight to deliver progress for working families across our country.
