FIRST: Over the summer, our grassroots movement won a major victory when the Supreme Court struck down Alabama’s congressional maps for diluting the political power of Black voters.

THEN: FiveThirtyEight reported that “this decision could be the difference between Republican and Democratic control of the House” because many more states across the country could also be required to replace discriminatory maps with fair ones.

NOW: A federal court has also struck down Georgia’s unfair maps – and more states could soon follow.

SO: We’re calling on our grassroots supporters to help us seize this opportunity to continue pushing for fair maps nationwide!

FiveThirtyEight: “More than a half-dozen states face the prospect of having to go through the redistricting process again . . . Both Democrats and Republicans have the opportunity to flip seats.”

Team, the work we do over the next few months will shape the landscape for 2024 – and that means we have two options.

OPTION #1:

We let the GOP get away with unchecked gerrymandering, allowing Republicans to run up the score in the House before a single ballot is even cast in 2024.

OR

OPTION #2:

We can continue fighting for fair redistricting so we can secure the fairest map possible ahead of a highly consequential election!

Remember, Attorney General Eric Holder has often said, “Wherever Democrats can fairly compete, they can win.”
