Mark and a bi-partisan group of Senators have been working on parks legislation for over four years. Finally, this week, the President said he'd sign bills restoring our national parks and funding the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). This is a real chance to make a lasting difference for our public lands in an often-hostile administration.

Here's the good news: these bills already exist. It's critical that we pass the Restore Our Parks Act and full funding for LWCF. Will you become a citizen co-sponsor for this important legislation to protect our parks?

Nationwide, there's a nearly $12 billion maintenance backlog in our parks, and more than $1 billion is in Virginia alone.

To drill down even further, Shenandoah National Park, one of the Commonwealth's natural treasures, has a backlog of over $88 million in deferred maintenance.

This bill would help reduce that backlog and get folks back in our parks AND provide 100,000 jobs across the country -- 10,000 in Virginia alone. Will you lend your support?

Beyond the Restore Our Parks Act, Mark is working with a bipartisan group to fully fund LWCF. This fund was established in 1964 to protect our country's natural beauty, water resources, and preserve cultural heritage sites from battlefields in Virginia to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming -- and everything in between. In the past, the Trump administration urged the Senate to slash this important program -- that's why it's urgent to get full funding now.

There's a reason why both of these important bills have huge bipartisan support -- air and water pollution doesn't care what party you belong to. With the broad coalition supporting the Restore Our Parks Act and LWCF, we have the momentum to get this done. Let's prove that to the Trump administration.
