It’s hard to believe that one year ago, Massachusetts made history.

Election night was a special night, and I am so grateful for the honor of serving as your Governor. I love this job!

A year ago, I remember saying that we had been given a historic opportunity and a mandate to act.

That we would bring people together, ignore the noise, and focus every day on making a difference in people’s lives.

Now, just a year later, I’m proud of what we’ve already accomplished to make Massachusetts a more affordable, competitive, and equitable place.

We’ve delivered Massachusetts’ first tax cuts in over 20 years, free school meals, our state's largest-ever investment on climate, free community college for students 25+, the biggest housing plan in history, expanded job training and health care access, doubled the K-12 education budget, and protected crucial rights and reproductive freedoms.

Every time I sign a bill or take a new action, I think about the difference it will make.

I think about the kid who won’t have to sit in class hungry.

I think about the seniors who can breathe a little easier knowing they have more money to pay the bills.

I think about the difference better job training will make for someone who wants to follow their dreams and try a new career.

I think about those who don’t have to live in fear because Massachusetts is a state where we will always protect civil rights and abortion access.

Across the country, we’ve seen so much anger and division.

But not in Massachusetts. In Massachusetts, we are coming together. We’re putting progress over partisanship. And we’re lifting each other up.

Massachusetts is a beacon of hope and opportunity. And it's up to all of us to make sure we stay that way.

Thank you for believing in our state and our people.

We have a lot left to do. But I know that if we work together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.

Thanks for being a part of this team. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
