Friend --

Right now, survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking can't access life-saving programs because of obstruction by Joni Ernst and Senate Republicans.

Congress routinely reauthorizes the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), a 1994 law that set up funding and created a national network to support survivors. But since the last major renewal expired in 2018, we've yet to secure this critical legislation.

You might be wondering, "What the heck is the hold-up?" And the answer is abominable: Joni and her Republican colleagues don't want to lose their precious "A+" rating from the NRA.

If we want the Senate to renew VAWA and protect survivors, then we need to show that they have a lot more to fear from us than the NRA.

friend, if you agree, sign our petition and demand that Joni does her job and reauthorizes VAWA.

Last year, Joni proposed her own version of VAWA -- but like so much of what she does, it's little more than a favor for her special-interest backers. Her version would keep the infamous "boyfriend loophole" in place. This loophole allows persons convicted of stalking or domestic abuse of a non-spouse partner to obtain firearms.

As you might suspect, the NRA hates this. They threatened to lower any representative's NRA approval rating should they choose to protect their constituents from violence.

This comes down to a simple choice of who you support: survivors or the NRA.

We know where Joni stands. But how about you, friend?

If you want to see VAWA reauthorized, sign our petition and demand that Joni protect survivors -- not the NRA.
