Rob just released a new report on the deadly ties between guns and domestic violence.
The Attorney General’s office released a new report on the links between guns and domestic violence. It comes as the U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments in a case that will determine whether the federal government can prevent alleged domestic abusers from owning firearms.
This report shows that California’s policies, including Domestic Violence Restraining Orders and enforcement of gun violence prevention laws, save lives and stop gun violence.
When domestic abusers get their hands on guns, the results are lethal to their victims — often their partners and children — as well as their communities.
The data is clear: domestic violence abusers should not have firearms.
But the Supreme Court could side with the gun lobby instead of the safety of domestic violence survivors and our communities at large.
California is leading the way on this critical issue thanks to Rob’s leadership and our state’s gun safety laws. Add your name to our petition to join Rob and oppose domestic violence perpetrators from having access to guns →
