VIRGINIA didn’t just hold the state Senate, Dems flipped the state House, depriving Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin of a governing trifecta, scuttling GOP hopes to end their post-Dobbs losing streak.
OHIO became the seventh state to enshrine abortion rights in their state constitution, and the first GOP-controlled state to do so post-Roe, demonstrating again that abortion rights are important to all Americans regardless of party affiliation.
KENTUCKY re-elected Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear, who vowed to chip away at the state's near total abortion ban, in another red-state proxy election on abortion rights.
No matter how you cut it, last night was a win for women and democracy. There is no denying that when abortion rights are on the ballot, we win. We win in red states, blue states, and purple states. It turns out people don’t like having their rights tramped on.
We celebrate today, and we get back to work tomorrow. These wins set a stage for 2024, where we will have to fight with everything we have for everything we love. MAGA continues to demonstrate that they don’t think they went far enough last time, and we must be ready to meet the moment for the 2024 election.
