John, I have great news. 

Yesterday, a bipartisan coalition in the Texas House defeated Greg Abbott’s school voucher scam. Again. 

Abbott and his backers tried to confuse Texans by renaming this scheme “Education Savings Accounts.” But Texans didn’t buy it. Folks knew that it was a scam to reroute money from public schools into the pockets of wealthy families so they could get a discount on private schools they could already afford. 

John, whether it’s in Texas or Washington, D.C. I will ALWAYS fight for our teachers and students. I’m proud to have played a part in this hard-won victory, but the fight isn’t over - the governor called us right back for another session. 

I’m ready to keep fighting as long as it takes. If you still stand with me in support of our public school system, will you add your name?

Our public schools aren’t a political football, and taxpayer money doesn’t exist to pad the pockets of Abbott’s wealthy donors. 

The bottom line? 

Don’t mess with Texas public schools.
