Senator Cornyn campaigned across Texas, urging voters to “Saddle Up n’ Vote!” He visited with hundreds of Republicans in Beaumont, Victoria, San Angelo, Lubbock, Abilene, Wichita Falls, Tyler and McGregor… ringing in Primary Night in Austin with a fired-up crowd and some ole’ fashioned BBQ.

The Republican, who’s running for re-election, hosted a campaign rally at the Silent Wings Museum on Monday. He was joined by Lubbock Republicans State Rep. Dustin Burrows, State Sen. Charles Perry, and a slew of other local Republicans.
Perry and Cornyn said Texas is in play. And while Lubbock likely stays red, they said large margins are needed to offset Democratic margins in larger urban areas.
“We need to double our game, or triple our game, from what we’ve done in the past in order to fight folks that are more than happy to take away everything we’ve worked so hard to achieve here in Texas,” Cornyn said. “There is a lot at stake.”
U.S. Senate candidates make final SETX stops before Super Tuesday Cornyn stopped at the Jefferson County Republican Party Headquarters in Mid-County to tell Texans to “Saddle Up n’ Vote” as part of a state tour.
“We talked a little bit about 2018 and what happened in Texas. We got what I call a two-by-four to the side of the head,” he said. “It wasn’t just a wake-up call. It was an alarm that should have sounded in all of our heads saying we are so close to letting what we worked so hard for all these many years slip away from us.”

Election Day has arrived: Sen. Cornyn visits Port Neches State Rep. Dade Phelan stumped for Cornyn during Monday’s visit, adding Cornyn looks forward to getting a Veterans Affairs hospital established in Southeast Texas. “There’s no more sacred obligation than to support the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces when they are on active duty and when they retire,” Cornyn said. “That’s the commitment we made.”
John Cornyn visits Victoria crowd in advance of Super Tuesday The Republican senator campaigned in Victoria in advance of Tuesday's primary elections, during which Cornyn is expected to be easily nominated as the party's candidate for he upcoming Senate race before a more challenging general election in November.
Cornyn pointed to a new wave of Democratic voters participating in Texas politics as a motivator to get more Republicans to show up at the polls. "The fact of the matter is, we've gotten a little complacent, because we sort of expect...that most of the races would be decided within the Republican primary," Cornyn said. "But that's not true anymore."

Senator John Cornyn Gets Out The Vote In Red Texas Senator Cornyn focused his comments at Abilene’s Cypress Street Station on what could happen if they don’t go vote. He painted a map of Texas turning more purple and eventually blue. Cornyn said that’s especially concerning with the census on the horizon, which he says may bring three more congressional seats to Texas and the redrawing of district lines around the state. And he pointed to the 2018 election as a warning, noting that rural voters were key for Republican wins. "Last time I was on the ballot there were 4.7 million voters. In November of 2020, we're expecting more than 11 million voters." He told the small crowd. "When Senator Cruz ran against Robert Francis O'Rourke, there were 8.3 million, and Senator Cruz won by 200,000 votes."

The Senator was at the P’s Crazy Car Museum showroom to tell those who came out to meet him about voter turnout, not just in the primaries but in the November General Election as well. He said after the 2018 elections, he is more concerned about some Republican voters not showing up to vote.

“Anytime you have a socialist like Bernie Sanders leading the Democratic nomination for POTUS, it’s frankly frightening to me," Cornyn said.
“They’re not necessarily grounded in what has made Texas the success story that it has today," Cornyn said.
