Dear Friend,

As you may know, the marijuana industry spent millions to legalize marijuana in Ohio through Issue 2 and spread enough misinformation about the drug to get it commercialized.

Here’s the good news: Issue 2 was statutory, not constitutional. Meaning Ohio lawmakers have the authority to make changes to the law or even eliminate commercialization.

What we do now matters, the battle in Ohio is not over, it has just begun. In the next 24 hours, SAM staff will reach out to every state lawmaker in Ohio encouraging them to enact smart policies that restrict this industry. We will work to expand our presence in Ohio, but we need your help.

Please consider donating toward our efforts to curb marijuana commercialization ([link removed]) .

The facts are clear: Big Marijuana is a predatory industry intent on creating a new generation of drug users to fill the pockets of Wall Street investors. They are actively pushing products that medically and scientifically have been demonstrated to cause harm.

SAM will redouble our efforts to ensure Ohio’s leaders create a strong regulatory framework that protects our young people and puts health and safety above the addiction industry’s profits.

Ohio lawmakers can serve a massive blow to this industry by eliminating commercial sales, advertising, and production, at a minimum. Ohio should immediately prioritize prevention education, especially in school-age children, enact strict potency caps for THC drug products, prohibit advertisement aimed at young people, and mandate clear warning labels for all THC products. We’re sharing these ideas and more with Ohio legislators and working with them on concrete ways the state can deter the industry’s influence.

We can help lead the fight against this industry on every level through your support ([link removed]) .

SAM continues to do a lot with a little, and we have never and will never take any money from pharmaceutical companies, tobacco companies, or alcohol companies. We're funded largely by people like you. When you donate to SAM, you're helping us get the word out about the harms of marijuana to parents, kids, and lawmakers.

Your generosity is why we stand a chance in this fight, so please consider donating today. ([link removed])
