Our legal team just filed a Notice of Claim against the Biden Department of Justice on behalf of pro-life hero Mark Houck.

You may recall Mark is the 40 Days for Life volunteer from Philadelphia whose story made national headlines when the Biden Administration sent a heavily armed contingent of some two dozen F.B.I. and law enforcement agents on an early-morning raid of the Houck’s home with guns drawn to arrest Mark in front of his wife and children.

For what?

For a case so flimsy, it took a jury less than one hour to deliver a not-guilty verdict in federal court (as you may recall the case involved Mark shielding his 12-year-old son from verbal and physical abuse by a Planned Parenthood escort, as any father would).

Now that our legal team at 40 Days for Life has filed Mark’s Notice of Claim against the DOJ in federal court in Philadelphia…

…I’m asking you to make an emergency tax-deductible gift of $40 to help get justice for Mark and protect all our volunteers and any American the DOJ is bigoted against.

You see, Mark’s case is very rare in that he meets the threshold to sue the federal government for violations of his civil rights in order to deny him the right to Free Speech and to sue state governments and agents under 42 U.S. Code § 1983 (civil action for deprivation of rights).

Not only did the DOJ treat Mark like a high-level violent criminal (even though he has no prior criminal record), they treated him like an animal. The facts of their outrageous behavior include:

• Ignoring Mark’s attorney's letter saying he would turn himself in

• Showing up for a dawn raid with automatic weapons and a swat team

• After Mark peacefully came out on the porch, agents going around him and pointing their automatic rifle barrels through the front door into the faces of his wife and seven crying children

• Never showing Mark a warrant and telling his wife, “We are taking him with or without a warrant”

• Shackling Mark’s feet and hands and chaining him to a table alone for 6 hours without speaking to him

Long story short… this legal action is an all-hands-on-deck moment for every American who is disgusted by the Biden/Garland harassment and weaponization of law enforcement against anyone who doesn’t share their radical worldview.

That’s why your one-time $40 contribution to 40 Days for Life is vitally important as we spearhead this civil litigation.

Long before the F.B.I. raid, we referred Mark to attorneys (who successfully defended him in state court).  Now, we have assembled an all-star legal team including our general counsel (Matt Britton, a four-time elected prosecutor) who is serving as lead counsel in Mark’s legal action against the Department of Justice.

I won’t sugarcoat this.

While the injustice Mark endured is undeniable, the reality is we are going up against the full might and endless resources of the federal government.

This legal battle will take 12-18 months, and in order to protect Mark and all of the other great 40 Days for Life prayer warriors, we need to raise $1.6 million.  Our goal is to raise $400,000 by the end of 2023 and $1.2 million by the end of next year.

P.S. “It’s good to see justice served.”  Those are the words of Dayle Steinberg – the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania – after the FBI raised Mark Houck’s home. This was before the trial and before Mark could even say a word in his own defense. The “justice” she was talking about? The suffering inflicted on Mark and his family.
