Access to emergency medical service providers should be focused on patient care — not funding.
But the reality is that countless EMS providers in Western Pennsylvania receive minimal state and municipal funding. That means many critical medical services across the region could soon be heading toward the chopping block.
Friend, the lack of funding and proper compensation for EMS services isn’t just threatening health care access — it’s driving our first-responders out the door. In 2021 alone, more than 2,600 EMTs allowed their certifications to expire.
As a member of the Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Committee, I’m fighting to ensure our Commonwealth secures sustainable EMS funding so we can retain our first-responders and keep the doors open on these necessary, and often life-saving, services.
Will you help me bring this issue to the forefront so we can pay our first-responders what they’re due, keep the doors to key EMS services open, and protect health care access for Western Pennsylvanians?

We need to provide more consistent funding streams through our state budget. Our current system relies on inconsistent grant funding and overcomplicated reporting systems, which is a disservice to both our EMS workers and the people of Pennsylvania who rely on them.
If you’re ready to support my work to secure funding for EMS providers in our General Assembly, please make a contribution of any amount so we can move this fight forward.
