We have some amazing news to share from last night from Groundwork’s regions, folks:
Governor Andy Beshear soundly won re-election in Kentucky.
And Ohio passed both progressive ballot measures, one that adds abortion protections to the state constitution, and one that legalizes marijuana.
These big wins truly would not have been possible without local organizers. They put in countless hours building lasting relationships with community members, registering voters, and raising awareness about what was at stake in this off-year election. They knew conventional wisdom about “red” states is dead wrong – and they proved it last night.
That’s exactly why Groundwork Project is dedicated to supporting these crucial, but often overlooked, activists who are the driving force behind last night’s success. Can you help us celebrate and continue expanding our reach by pitching in today?

Also, I would be remiss to not mention Mississippi, a Groundwork target state. While we didn’t see the results we were hoping for this time, experts are already mentioning how unusually close this race was — a true testament to the work our partners put in day after day thanks to your support.
We have a lot more to say about Mississippi — from the numerous voting and ballot access issues Mississipians dealt with to the progress our grantees made — so expect more soon in the coming weeks.
Last night’s victories make me more and more certain that what we’re building here at Groundwork can really move the needle in the years to come.
Let’s celebrate our progress today!
Warmly,
Joe
