John,
From a young age, I knew that I was a little bit different.
I didn’t speak the same language as the other kids. My parents talked
differently. We came from a different place.
My family escaped Communist Vietnam when I was four years old, and even though
America was unfamiliar at first, in no time, it became the only true home I’ve
ever known.
As I grew up, I learned that we owed our lives to the freedoms in this
country. That’s why I decided to dedicate my life to serving it.
I knew what America had given me and that I couldn’t repay her by taking a
simple desk job. I attended the U.S. Naval Academy and went on to serve for 25
years as a Captain in some of the most dangerous corners of the Earth.
When I was in the Navy, I saw the very best of humanity that America has to
offer. And when I compare it to the “leadership” we see in Washington today, I
can’t help but feel we’re missing something.
It’s no coincidence that are people are losing trust in our elected officials,
veteran representation in Congress is at an all-time low.
I’m on a mission to change that.
My name is Hung Cao, and I’m running for the U.S. Senate because America needs
veterans in Washington more than ever.

Hung knows the American Dream is worth saving - because he’s lived it. Now,
he’s running for Senate to defend it from the next generation. Hung Cao came to
America with little besides the clothes on his back, and after his 25-year
career in the Navy, he’s not done fighting for our future.
