Take a moment to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, Friend. Imagine this --

You live in a rural community in North Dakota, bordering rolling prairies and rocky ridges. You and your family deeply value this access to the outdoors. These clean, green spaces are a big part of your lives.

But in December, the Department of Interior leases these lands to a greedy fossil fuel company. In come the trucks and construction machinery to tear away at the Earth, install massive fracking rigs that contaminate local waterways and destroy the land you hold so dear.

This is on the verge of becoming reality. The DOI is poised to lease 3,651 acres of public lands in North Dakota to the highest fossil fuel bidder! Your comment before the November 16th deadline can help stop it! Please, Friend, fight for the people in North Dakota and help stop fossil fuels from destroying our public lands! >>

Fracking can sometimes TRIGGER EARTHQUAKES and its wastewater can contain RADIOACTIVE WASTE! That’s not to mention the ever-worsening climate crisis that fossil fuel extraction -- especially on our public lands -- is accelerating. Bottom line: fracking is good for no one but the greedy companies who do it.

The Department of Interior’s environmental assessment for these lease sales admits that there are devastating impacts from oil and gas development. Here are some of the potential consequences for nearby communities in the assessment: birth defects, cancer, lung disease, miscarriages, and much more. Will you help protect people’s health and cancel the lease sale in North Dakota before it’s too late? Sign the petition now and help us hit our midnight goal of 143 signatures from your area!
