We did it! Vouchers are dead—again. The pro-public education coalition in the Texas House has defeated Abbott’s latest voucher scam.

This is a huge win for Texas students, teachers, and our neighborhood schools!

But we know this fight isn’t over.

Our public schools still need support and funding. Our teachers and staff still deserve a raise. And we must address special education, student mental health, and school safety.

It’s time to stop playing politics and give every Texas child the support they need to succeed.

The Governor has already called us back for a 4th special legislative session to try, once again, to force us to defund our public schools. We know these bills will be heard in committee later this week.

But I will continue to oppose against any attempt to pass a voucher scam because Texas students deserve better.
