John,
Ahead of tomorrow’s Judiciary Committee meeting, Committee Chair Dick Durbin (D-IL) and senior member Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) issued the following joint statement:[1]
“By accepting these lavish, undisclosed gifts, the justices have enabled their wealthy benefactors and other individuals with business before the Court to gain private access to the justices while preventing public scrutiny of this conduct. It is imperative that we understand the full extent of how people with interests before the Court are able to use undisclosed gifts to gain private access to the justices.”
The committee could vote tomorrow to subpoena multiple people with direct knowledge of the right-wing takeover of the Supreme Court and the billionaire influence behind it.
Add your name now to urge the Senate Judiciary Committee to subpoena billionaire Harlan Crow and right-wing judicial activist and Board Chair of the anti-tax Federalist Society Leonard Leo.
The Court has already demonstrated a complete inability to hold itself accountable for numerous ethical lapses and conflicts of interest. That means it’s up to us and Congress to hold conflicted justices accountable.
Thank you for taking action today,

John,
Whether it’s accepting numerous unreported gifts and cash payments from billionaire benefactors or failing to recuse themselves on cases that benefit those very same billionaires’ interests, we’re holding Supreme Court justices accountable for ethical lapses that no other court in the land could get away with.
Now, the Senate Judiciary Committee is joining our calls for accountability. This Thursday, the committee could vote to subpoena Justice Clarence Thomas’s billionaire benefactor Harlan Crow and the right-wing mastermind behind the Republican takeover of the Supreme Court, Leonard Leo.[1]
With new revelations virtually every month about more undisclosed gifts to justices, and with the court set to hear a case next month that could have major implications on our ability to tax corporations and billionaires, we’re fighting to hold conflicted justices accountable.
Sign now to tell the Senate Judiciary Committee to subpoena billionaire Harlan Crow and right-wing judicial activist Leonard Leo to testify about how multiple Supreme Court justices are doing the bidding of their billionaire benefactors.
While Harlan Crow is the most notable billionaire bankrolling Justice Clarence Thomas’s luxurious lifestyle, we learned just last month that Thomas had a loan worth more than $250,000 forgiven by another wealthy friend, which Thomas once again failed to disclose.[2]
And, Politico reports that Leonard Leo, board chair of the anti-tax Federalist Society, has helped funnel sizeable cash transfers to Justice Thomas’s wife Ginni through various non-profits.[3]
Add your name and tell the Senate Judiciary Committee to act this week to subpoena billionaire Harlan Crow and right-wing activist Leonard Leo for their roles in the billionaire takeover of the Supreme Court.
Together, we’re fighting for a democracy that is of, by, and for the people, not one controlled by a handful of billionaires who seek to control our laws and our economy.
