Because of the inclement weather on our regular elections meeting, and because we want to make elections more inclusive to all, we voted in our monthly meeting on February 23rd to hold elections in 2 stages. The first round of voting will be at our MID-WEEK MEETING on Wednesday, February 26th at 7PM @ Youthworks. The second round of voting will be at this SPECIAL ELECTION MEETING on Sunday, March 8th. Final elections results will be announced on March 8th following the tallying of the votes.

We will be electing:
Ā
Chairs (1 or 2)
Treasurer (1)
Secretary (1)
Up to Four (4) At-Large Organizers
Ā
Chairs are responsible for running business meetings and serve as public faces ofĀ the chapter. Chairs don't vote while acting as chair.Ā

The treasurer keeps track of all income and expenditures, ensuring our capacity to use funds from the Program Fund and the Mutual Aid Fund for general operating expenses, specific activity expenses, and providing mutual aid.Ā

The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at meetings, managing otherĀ documents, and sending updates to the email list.

At-large organizersĀ serve as resources for chapterĀ members, helping to coordinate and enable members to spearhead actions and events, and take on additional organizing duties within the OC, such as communications, internal membership building and mobilization, and event planning.

If you have more questions about what any of these roles entails, get in touch with the people who fill them now at [email protected].Ā

Organizing Committee meetings are generally open to all members, so if you're curious about what it's like to be on the OC, drop by (meetings usually take place during office hours on Sundays when we don't have a business or midmonth meeting; after elections, they'll be scheduled based on the availability of the new OC members).
