It’s David Hogg. A year ago, the House passed an assault weapons ban, but Republicans in the Senate stopped its passage.

I’m all too familiar with the deadly effects of assault-style weapons. It’s the same type of weapon that a former classmate used when he entered my school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and killed my classmates.

No one, especially not teenagers, should be able to access assault weapons.

These weapons of war don’t belong in our schools or on our streets.

That’s why I’m joining Stop Gun Violence PAC and Leaders We Deserve in calling for Congress to immediately pass an assault weapons ban. Will you add your name to our petition and join us?

Parkland, Uvalde, Sandy Hook … the list goes on. All these mass shootings were carried out using high-capacity AR-15-style assault weapons.

These deadly weapons were designed for combat and increase the deadliness of mass shooting events.

That’s why we must do everything in our power to work against the NRA and gun lobby to ensure that these deadly weapons stay off our streets.
