OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Daily Report 56/2020 issued on 7 March 2020

Based on information from the Monitoring Teams as of 19:30 6 March 2020. All times are in Eastern European Time.

Summary

  • Compared with the previous reporting period, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
  • A man sustained injuries due to shelling in Dokuchaievsk, Donetsk region.
  • The Mission continued to monitor the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote, and Petrivske; it recorded ceasefire violations inside the disengagement area near Petrivske.
  • The SMM saw four weapons in violation of withdrawal lines in a non-government-controlled area of Donetsk region.
  • The Mission saw unexploded ordnance near Kruta Balka, on a road frequently used by the SMM and employees of the Donetsk Filtration Station.
  • The SMM continued to facilitate localized ceasefires to enable repairs to water infrastructure near Pankivka, demining activities in Krasnyi Yar, and maintenance to the phenol sludge reservoir near Zalizne.
  • The Mission’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted, including at checkpoints near Verkhnoshyrokivske and Kruta Balka, at a compound near Manuilivka, and at the central railway station in Donetsk city, all in non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk region.
