John: We just got word that Issue 1 passed, which means abortion access in Ohio is protected!
On this momentous occasion, I want to begin by recognizing the countless grassroots volunteers who made this possible. Volunteers organized, fundraised and talked to Ohioans from every corner of our state so that we could reclaim our reproductive rights – and thanks to the power of grassroots efforts, we won.
John, today Ohioans stood up for freedom. The fundamental freedom of controlling our own bodies and deciding our own futures, without the input of extremist politicians in Columbus.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of our state, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
With you in solidarity,
Emilia
PS. While tonight is certainly a cause for celebration, we can’t lose sight of the larger goal. Republicans in Congress want to pass a national abortion ban, and unless we win highly competitive races like mine and take back the House Majority they just might do it. Will you chip in just $5 right now to ensure I can keep fighting for our reproductive rights in DC?
