First of all, friend, I wanted to express my gratitude to all of you who stood with me through one of the most tumultuous months Congress has ever experienced. We witnessed a lot of chaos jam packed into October, but now, we’re finally getting back to work in Congress.
House Republicans finally elected a Speaker – though the choice took three weeks, 4 rounds of voting, and endless infighting. To make matters worse, the new Speaker is an election-denying MAGA extremist. Now, government funding is about to run out in just days. That’s why I’m committed to finding a bipartisan solution to keep our government open as soon as possible.
House Democrats are ready to roll up our sleeves and get back to work for the American people. That means fighting extremism, defending our democracy, and the basic human rights of ALL American citizens. If this past month has taught us anything, it’s that Congress and America are stronger when Democrats are at the helm.
