Believe it or not, this is not a joke. Extremist GOP Speaker Mike Johnson really said this in a fundraising email last week…

"I refuse to put people over politics."

Typo or not, it couldn’t be more clear that Speaker Johnson’s statement represents the mindset of the House Republican Majority.

They took our nation to the brink of a catastrophic default on our debt and are now leading us toward a reckless government shutdown… and there’s no telling what they’ll do next.

This House GOP has proven, time and again, that they’re more than willing to place political schemes over actually governing – regardless of whether our hard-earned benefits or our fundamental human rights hang in the balance.
