RSVP now to claim your spot for tomorrow's webinar! >> We need to continue building momentum and be prepared to take action following the elections this fall so that we can ensure that democracy reform is a priority for the new Congress -- and hopefully, the new administration. Thanks, - Rio, PFAW ----[previous message]---- PFAW Member, Last year, Democrats in the House of Representatives made history with the passage of H.R.1, the For The People Act, the most sweeping and substantive package of democracy reforms to pass either chamber of Congress in decades, perhaps ever. From tackling big money in politics, voter suppression, political gerrymandering and other issues of ethics in government, H.R.1 serves as a guidepost for fixing many of the most pressing problems facing our country. Now, one full year later, we are continuing to raise awareness and build support for this monumental legislation. What: H.R.1 Anniversary Activist Webinar When: March 8th, 2020 at 7:00PM Eastern Where: Zoom conference (accessible anywhere with internet); NOTE: attendees can also dial in to the webinar using a phone (a phone number is provided in the registration confirmation email). Who: Members of the Declaration For American Democracy Coalition with special guest Congressman John Sarbanes In addition to hearing about various important provisions of the For The People Act and how these reforms can address critical frontline issues such as climate change, healthcare, and inequality; the webinar will also include a training for activists who wish to participate in a grassroots lobbying effort to thank members that have supported this legislation and put pressure on those that have not. If and when Democrats win the Senate and White House later this year, we must be prepared to engage in a massive and sustained grassroots efforts to ensure that these reforms are passed by both the House and Senate and signed into law by a new president in 2021. While the political environment in this country may currently seem incredibly unstable and out of control, real change is within reach, and we have to look no further than the groundbreaking reforms passed in the House last year. RSVP for this important webinar on H.R. 1, and encourage your friends to do the same! >> In solidarity, -- Rio Tazewell, PFAW
