A lot of people are talking about the New York Times poll that came out this weekend, and for good reason. A poll showing Trump ahead in 5 out of 6 swing states -- and President Biden up by only 2 points in Wisconsin -- means we have a lot of work to do in the next 12 months.

I want to let you know that here in Wisconsin, we are doing that work and are going to keep doing it. We’ve known all along that the stakes couldn’t be higher in our state -- if Republicans flip my Senate seat and win the presidency here, it’s almost guaranteed that the GOP will reclaim the Senate majority and the White House.

My re-election campaign will be a major part of the effort in Wisconsin to Get Out The Vote for Democrats in 2024 -- just like it was in 2012 and 2018. Groups like the PCCC are helping me.

The GOP spent a whopping $77 million to win last year’s Senate race in Wisconsin, and won by ONE percentage point. It’s clear that they intend to do (and spend) whatever it takes to squeak by again to flip my seat and the whole state red this time around.

Senate Republicans are looking to recruit candidates with massive personal wealth to jump into the race -- including right-wing megamillionaire, Eric Hovde, who said he’d spend $15 to $20 million out of his own pocket to defeat me.

Going up against an opponent with a virtually unlimited campaign warchest would be a tall order, John.

And with polls like the one in the New York Times showing the presidential race so tight, it is just so important we continue building the resources it’ll take to fight back against the inevitable flood of GOP attacks and keep this seat and this state blue for Democrats.
