Here's something we didn't want you to miss: In a direct attempt to link his campaign to his family’s wealth and influence across the state, Peter Meijer copied his family’s logo from the mid 80s through the early 2000s as his official campaign logo. All Michiganders know that logo like the back of their hands.
Subtle, right?
It's actually pretty fitting that Peter Meijer repurposed his family's company logo for his campaign. He comes from one of the nine billionaire families in Michigan, and he knows that, given his voting record, tying himself to the popular chain will really help him. Local media spent his first day asking about the logo and he tap danced by saying “if I spell my name in lowercase, it looks like the current logo. If I make it all caps, it looks like the former logo.”
In reality, the association makes sense when you consider he’s self-funded his campaigns in the past.
Elissa may not have the Meijer name, but she knows how to stand up for working families across Michigan and take on large corporations. Together we are going to defend Michigan's Senate seat for Democrats and protect the Senate majority.
