** Roosevelt Society Summit

Dear John,

In difficult times, we need each other. That is why I am thrilled to invite you to the Roosevelt Society Summit— the inaugural convening of the Roosevelt Society, a new initiative from the Roosevelt Institute and Roosevelt Forward. We are building a community and a pipeline of people dedicated to shaping a more equitable and sustainable future through better governance and smart, bold policy. And we want you to join us.

As you know, at Roosevelt, we believe that ideas are critical—but ideas don’t socialize themselves. We need a connected community of people who share a worldview about what ails our economy and our democracy, and who want to dedicate their lives and work to making our shared ideas a reality. The summit will be a unique mix. We’ve invited people at all stages of their lives and careers, from White House experts to people still in school, who hold one thing in common: a belief that a better, more democratic economy is possible, and that it will take all of us to make it so. Join us to meet people like you, at the forefront of shaping progressive economic policies for a more thriving, more inclusive, multiracial democracy ([link removed]) .

This meeting is a leap of faith for us. Over the years Roosevelt has built a bench of changemakers who believe in the power of government to make our lives better. We do this work through the student-focused Roosevelt Network, our think tank fellows, and our Personnel is Policy program (a joint program with Roosevelt Forward, our 501(c)(4) sister organization). Now, we are taking the next step, gathering people from all of these programs together and launching the Roosevelt Society. This will be partly a policy meeting (yes, we will have a speech or three!) but we’ll also spend time getting to know people as people: What motivates us? How did we get into this line of work? And what comes next?

We all need motivation for the work ahead. So join us. Make new friends and run into old allies. Leave the meeting as part of a collective effort, ready to make the Roosevelt Society a part of who you are, your political and policy home.

Please RSVP by December 15, 2023 ([link removed]) as space is limited.

Thank you for all that you do. I look forward to seeing you in January.

Sincerely,
Felicia
