Lauren Underwood For Congress

John,

As a registered nurse, Lauren knows firsthand how critical it is that we reverse the alarming maternal mortality rate in the United States, which is driven by far higher mortality rates among Black mothers and people of color.

That’s why she co-founded the Black Maternal Health Caucus in 2019 and is working hard to get her comprehensive, 13 bill legislative package, the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act, across the finish line to save moms’ lives.

These 13 bills are aimed at closing the racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health care — and we've still got so much work to do.

Momentum is on our side, John. Support for Lauren’s legislation is gaining traction.

Earlier this year, she was invited to CBS News’ Face the Nation to talk about how we can advance the Momnibus Act through Congress, and multiple news outlets have continued to cover the dire need to address this preventable injustice daily, citing Lauren’s Momnibus as a solution.

A growing group of supporters agree that passing the Momnibus is how we can confront disparities in healthcare outcomes and save moms' lives. So we need to act while more folks are tuned in and grow our momentum.

Your support in this moment will power our efforts to keep the Black maternal crisis on people’s minds and in the news. So John, will you donate $12 or anything you can, to support our work to get the 12 remaining Momnibus bills passed?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thank you for supporting Lauren’s efforts to make meaningful progress on this critical issue.
