This week marks exactly one year until the 2024 elections, John.

That's one year to lay the groundwork to hold the Senate, re-elect President Biden, and flip the House.

Under President Biden's steady leadership, we've made great progress so far, but I know we have so much more left to accomplish. My colleagues and I have been proud to deliver big wins for the American people — passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, funding massive investments to fight climate change, and enacting the largest gun violence prevention bill in a generation.

At the same time, these past few months have shown us the deep dysfunction of Republican leadership in the House. Since Republicans gained the majority in January, GOP leadership has flailed and failed to make any meaningful progress — even taking weeks last month to elect a new speaker.

With crises in Israel and Ukraine and yet another deadline for a government shutdown coming up this month, it's never been clearer that we need true leadership at all levels of our government.
