Friend, recent mass shooting tragedies are a somber reminder that our anguish and outrage at gun violence must be met with action.

There have been more mass shootings than days in 2023, each one leaving communities devastated, families heartbroken and lives filled with promise forever lost in an instant. Americans across the country are left to wonder if their community will be next. And still, GOP lawmakers offer thoughts and prayers with no course of action while continuing to take money from the gun lobby.

It must stop now. Democrats have introduced legislation to expand background checks and President Biden vows to ban assault weapons "come hell or high water," but if we're going to have any hope of succeeding, we need Americans across the country in this fight, too.

That's why I'm calling for 10,000 Democrats to stand with me before midnight tonight, and I'm personally asking you to represent xxxxxx, friend. So please, will you add your name next to mine and demand lifesaving action to prevent gun violence?
