*Project description: *BFI Waste Systems of North America, LLC. owns and operates the Pine Bend Landfill, a mixed municipal solid waste landfill in the City of Inver Grove Heights in Dakota County, Minnesota. BFI Waste Systems of North America, LLC. proposes to develop and permit an 85-foot vertical expansion over the existing Phase 5 and 6 areas of the landfill to increase the permitted design capacity by approximately 8,185,000 cubic yards.

The development will also include stormwater management areas and preserved green space.

*Project description: *Pentagon Materials seeks to expand the existing sand and gravel mine (Maranda Mine). Pentagon proposed to expand the existing mine limits by 62 acres, for a total mine area of 100 acres. The Maranda Mine is located on two parcels of property located in both Belle Plaine and St Lawerence Township, Scott County.

*Project description: *Scott County is proposing the Merriam Junction Trail Project (State Project (SP) 070-090-003), a multi-use bituminous trail that would utilize portions of the abandoned Union Pacific Railroad bed located between the Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail in the city of Carver (Carver County) to 145th St. W. in Scott County. The Project would include construction of one pedestrian bridge across the Minnesota River and three crossings over ravines. Other project elements include riverbank stabilization along portions of the Minnesota River. Hwy 252/I-94 Project [ [link removed] ]

*Project description: *The Hwy 252/I-94 Project consists of approximately 12 miles of Hwy 252 and I-94 in the cities of Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, and Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The purpose of the Hwy 252/I-94 Project is to improve the safe and reliable movement of people and goods across multiple modes on and across Hwy 252 and I-94 between Hwy 610 in Brooklyn Park and North 4th Street in Minneapolis. MnDOT is seeing a high number of crashes, traffic congestion, and barriers for pedestrians and bicyclists in the project study area. The project is being undertaken by MnDOT to address the transportation needs on Hwy 252 and I-94.
*Summary of scoping decision: *MnDOT is providing notice of the Final Scoping Decision Document and will prepare an EIS for the Hwy 252/I-94 Project. The EIS will describe the purpose and need for the project; describe the affected social, economic, and environmental resources and potential impacts; and identify reasonable mitigation measures. A No Build Alternative will be studied in the EIS. Build alternatives for Hwy 252 include a four-lane freeway with bus shoulders, a six-lane freeway with bus shoulders, and a six-lane freeway with managed lanes. Build alternatives for I-94 include converting lanes to managed lanes, constructing new lanes as managed lanes, and constructing a direct connection from I-94 to downtown Minneapolis. Additional build alternative features include interchange access combinations along Hwy 252; interchange configurations for Hwy 252 access locations; pedestrian and bicycle accommodations; and local and express bus service improvements.

Minnesota Duty Officer reports pertaining to fish kills are summarized in the following table, in accordance with 103G.216, REPORTING FISH KILLS IN PUBLIC WATERS, Subd. 2 Reporting Requirement. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor. They represent the raw data/information provided by callers.
