Today's results will surely forecast the landscape heading into 2024. **Here's a rundown of the top 3 hottest races across the country...**
###Ohio
Issue 1 is on the ballot with reversed phrasing (a MAGA attempt to confuse voters after losing this summer) and this time the ballot initiative will decide whether the State Constitution should be amended to protect abortion access. This could be the most telling decision yet on where our country stands on reproductive justice and may be the switch that reverses Ohio's red trend over the past cycles.
###Kentucky
Democrat Andy Beshear holds the Governor's office in a red state fighting against a staunchly anti-choice MAGA challenger. Right now the race is statistically tied and there is no telling how this might end. Democrats must protect our leaders in red states and districts throughout the country to have a chance of Electoral College victory in 2024. A win in Kentucky will go a long way in assuring we have the energy we need in rural areas to secure victory in battleground states.
###Virginia
MAGA up-and-comer Glenn Youngkin is hoping to secure a state trifecta and eventually takeover as the next generation leader of the Trumpist faction. A proud supporter of election deniers, Youngkin would have incredible leverage over Virginia's government from top to bottom if successful. No Dem Left Behind uncovered several instances of MAGA mishandling of ARPA funding at local levels. Now, more than ever Democrats must have their eye on state and local races. Virginia's decision will be a litmus test on the health of democracy in small town America.
